That wasn't supposed to happen!

Wednesday, 4 February 2004

I seem to have lost my journalling beans. Not quite sure what happened. I had a crazy-hectic November, what with NaNoWriMo, and a crazy-hectic December, what with seasonal choral activities and the party season, and a crazy-hectic Christmas, what with ... well, Christmas, and then, I don't know, I suppose I'd just got out of the habit.

So, being me, I've been beating myself up over this. I wailed and gnashed my teeth when the one-year anniversary of BKTH arrived on 14 January, and told myself I was a pathetic excuse for a journaller and didn't deserve Internet access at all, let alone my own domain. I tore tufts of hair out as each passing day took me further away from the golden 24th of October (the date of the last entry - keep up, can't you?), and further down the path of perdition. I flayed chunks off the bloodied carcase of my self-esteem as month after month passed...

And what I didn't do during all this time, you'll note, is actually sit down and write an entry.

That would have been too much like a sensible way to proceed.

Anyway, here's the deal: some short, gentle entries to get me back into the swing of things, and less of the self-flagellation, because that's really not my idea of a good time.

We'll see how it goes.
